Client charged with Sexual Assault. Following a two-day trial at the Brampton Superior Court of Justice, an Acquittal was entered at the request of the Crown.
H.J. was accused of serious sexual assault involving another tenant at his residence. Criminal defence lawyer Sahej Athwal prepared a detailed cross-examination of the complainant and was able to establish major inconsistencies along with implausible facts. The Crown prosecutor reconsider his case after the evidence was completed and requested for an acquittal.
Client was charged with 12 charges related to domestic violence:
The Accused was held not guilty after a lengthy 5 day trial at the New Toronto Courthouse. The defence argued that the client acted in self-defence and defence of property. During the cross-examination, Sahej Athwal was able to establish major inconsistencies in the complainant's version of events which fatally undermined the complainant's credibility. The Accused was held not Guilty on all counts.
